Earth From Above
December 14th, 2010

The Earth From Above exhibition has been touring the world for some years now. This is the first time I have ever seen the open air public exhibition and I thought it was a great way to view the photographs. It’s hard to walk past without stopping and staring at Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s amazing pictures.

They have a huge world map on the ground to highlight each location photographed. This helps you to picture clearly where some of the wonderful sights to see are. As I walked across I was definitely compiling a wish list of places to travel to.

The photos themselves are fantastic and if you haven’t seen some of them before I urge you to check them out. Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s website is a good place to start, or go to any book shop and flick through the book. Better yet, compile your wish list and visit a few of them in real life. Here are a few of my favourites:

City of Shibam, Wadi Hadramout, Yemen

Perito Moreno Glacier, Santa Cruz Province, Argentina

Motorway interchange nr. the Yokohama Port, Honshu, Japan
