Below are some photographs I have taken recently at Foo Fighters shows in Auckland and Sydney.
I recently visited the Brian Brake’s retrospective exhibition at theĀ Te-Papa museum in Wellington. He was one of New Zealand’s most renowned international photojournalists whose career spanned 40 years. He was most well-known for creating photo essays and providing images for various publications and magazines such as Life. I just loved some of the pictures he had of Japan, India and Australia. He also had some candid shots of Picasso and his family when they were out watching a bull fight. These are a few of my favourites:
I cannot wait for the Pick Me Up exhibition at Somerset House this year. Last year’s was probably one of the best shows of 2011 for the affordable artwork on sale and also for the sheer joy of seeing Rob Ryan at work. This year they have Anthony Burrill in the open studio. He’ll be a great contrast to the likes of Rob Ryan. In fact, you probably couldn’t find more of a contrast. I love his bold graphic approach and he’s definitely confident with colour and type, so can’t wait to see how he works.
